AXIA Moderates LIGNICOAT Joint Workshop
As the dissemination manager of the LIGNICOAT project, AXIA Innovation moderated an online workshop event on Bio-resins, fire-retardant additives, and composites. This joint initiative, held in collaboration with the VIABLE and THERMOFIRE projects, brought together leading experts from the industry to discuss the latest advancements and explore sustainable solutions.
The workshop featured a diverse lineup of speakers, including:
- Christin Barron (Westlake Epoxy) from LIGNICOAT, who presented on bio-resins for coatings and composites
- Marc Comí Bonachí (VITO) technical project coordinator from VIABLE, who also discussed bio-resins for coatings and composites
- Elvira Villaro Ábalos (Avanzare), project coordinator from THERMOFIRE, who presented on flame-retardant additives for composites and coatings
- Aitor Barrio (Tecnalia), project coordinator from LIGNICOAT, who discussed flame-retardant additives for coatings
- Saulo Franco (Barpimo) from LIGNICOAT, who presented on applications of bio-resins and fire-retardant additives
- Claudio Pagella (Iris Coatings) from LIGNICOAT, who also discussed applications of bio-resins and fire-retardant additives
The workshop also included a roundtable discussion on the future of additives, moderated by the panel and open to all participants. This discussion focused on key topics such as obstacles, performance, costs, sustainability, and the choice between water-based and solvent-based solutions.
AXIA Innovation would like to thank all of the speakers and attendees for their contributions to the workshop’s success. We look forward to continuing to support innovative projects and initiatives in the field of sustainable materials and technologies.
We invite all participants to share their post-event feedback through this form. Additionally, the slides and recording of the event will be available soon.
