AXIA Innovation Leads Key Deliverables at Final LIGNICOAT Meeting

AXIA Innovation participated in the final LIGNICOAT consortium’s M42 meeting in San Sebastian, Spain. The event was hosted at the TECNALIA facilities on November 19 and 20. The meeting started with a visit to the TECNALIA facilities in Azpeitia, where the development of fire-resistant, antimicrobial, and antiviral bio-based coatings was carried out.

AXIA highlighted its work on key deliverables to be submitted by the end of the project (November 2024), including the Report on Clustering Activities and the Final Plan for Exploitation and Dissemination of Results (PEDR), which is connected to the milestone of post-project TRL scalation.

During the meeting, AXIA presented the project’s communication achievements, noting the growth of social media followers to over 100 and the organization of two upcoming clustering events. The presentation also covered the update of the partners’ business model canvas, market analysis, IPR strategy, and revenue models for four main bio-based coatings:

  • Bio-based polyurethane dispersion with fire-resistance properties for wood substrates
  • Bio-based alkyd resin with anticorrosion properties for metal substrates
  • Bio-based epoxy resin for coil coating applications
  • Bio-based coating with bio-based additives with antimicrobial and antiviral properties for metal substrates and melamine boards.

AXIA Innovation remains committed to ensuring the completion of the LIGNICOAT project, driving impactful advancements in biocoatings and sustainable materials.
